The word "hello" is perhaps used more often than any other word in the English ybody in the United States uses this word again and again every day and everywhere. Youpick up the phone and the first word you hear is "Hello!" You meet a friend in the street and thefirst word you say is "Hello!"

Where did the word come from? The American inventor(发明家), Thomas Edison, was the firstperson to use "hello" in the late 18th century soon after the invention of the telephone.
